More about the Benjamin Britten 50p
These special edition 50p coins were issued in 2013 to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of one of the most loved British composers.
Benjamin Britten was an English composer, conductor and pianist who was born in 1913 in Suffolk. He studied at the Royal College of Music in London and compiled an impressive and diverse body of work during his life, ranging across many genres and moods. Since his death in 1976, Britten’s reputation as one of the greatest musicians of the age has continued to grow.
This was the first ever 50p to show both date and denomination on the obverse side.

hi…I have 3 bags of benjamin britten 50p coins unopened 20 in each bag…can you value them…and or make an offer for them please.
Thanks
Tom.
You should name your price Tom. You will undoubtedly get more for them if you sell them as individual coins though.
These are not valuable coins as this chart advises! I will give you £10 per bag!!!!!!! that’s what they are worth!
We sold off our surplus stock of these at £2 each without too much trouble so I would say that’s what they are worth. These were circulated but in excellent condition.
Hi, iHi, is Hi, is there a list of what the various conditions are like?
