More about the Handball 50p
Issued as one of the 29 Olympic 50p designs to commemorate the games in London 2012. Each 50p features a different Olympic sport.
The winning designer for the Gymnastics 50p was Natasha Ratcliffe, a self-employed artist and sculptor from Cornwall. She also designed the Wheelchair Rugby 50p.
Played on an indoor court between two teams of seven, the objective of Handball is to throw the ball into the opponent’s goal using only your hands.
