More about the Volleyball 50p
Issued as one of the 29 Olympic 50p designs to commemorate the games in London 2012. Each 50p features a different Olympic sport.
The winning designer for the Volleyball 50p was Daniela Bootham, a Barclays Bank sales rep from Leyland. She chose volleyball as it stood out to her as a more obscure sport.
Olympic volleyball consists of both beach volleyball and indoor volleyball, which both follow the same basic rules.
